    An employee agreement is a formal agreement that specifies the conditions of
    the relationship between an employee and an employer. This includes the
    compensation and expectations of the job.This is also referred to as employment
    contracts. Typically employee contracts are use for a specified period of time.
    Recently in March 6,2017, Sears Holding had a court case against them for age
    discrimination. The case Morgan vs. Sears Holding Management Corporation
    was a case in regards to three Sears ex-employees filing a case with the Equal
    Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). The three employees stated that
    Sears terminated them from their positions due to their age or their opposition to
    age discrimination. After the lawsuit was filed and brought to court Sears argued
    that “arbitration of their claims pursuant to the Federal Arbitration Act (FAA).
    Sears contends that all three plaintiffs signed an arbitration agreement that
    contained a collective action waiver”(n.d.Leagle). The court granted Sear’s the
    motion to compel arbitration against the Plaintiffs. The case is still ongoing and
    pending a settling date for the trail on whether the plaintiffs enter into an
    agreement to arbitrate their claims.

  • A licensing contract is an agreement of two parties which are known as the
    licensor and the licensee. In a typical licensing agreement, the licensor grants the
    licensee the right to produce and sell goods, apply a brand name or trademark,
    or use patented technology owned by the licensor. In exchange, the licensee
    usually submits to a series of conditions regarding the use of the licensor’s
    property and agrees to make payments known as royalties.
